I kinda get it, the fight is supposed to be for him having fun, but honestly I am struggling to feel any emotions from him, I have seen characters that do stuff for fun, even hold back. But you built your MC as being either quick to act or don't care. I just skimmed fast pace, barely read. I am so waiting for back to the original world and some actual, impactful to the story, action happened. Something canon and see him deal with it.
