HopelesslyRomantic
I’m already excited to see all the future of this story, although I must admit that I am more interested in the plot development and growth of the characters than I am in this budding relationship. I still have yet to feel attached to either one, and knowing that they are kind of already set on the path to get into a relationship slight detracts from the authenticity of the build up. Like we get dropped in to the story as the new Claire, but within a chapter or two of the introduction of Claire, both characters begin to acknowledge how the other is cute and so on. I don’t know how to explain it other than it feels out of place since these characters already have a history together, and now that they are being “exiled” together it doesn’t leave a lot to be questioned about what the next chapters might hold. I can anticipate that the next chapter might be right after they leave the room and Elise starts to love Claire for her loyalty and happiness that they get to stay together, and then are determined to get through their trials in their new station together, and maybe try to get back on the Pope and Marie if they talk about the fishyness of the situation and come to a conclusion. It just feels hard to see where the story can go from here other than mostly linear for now. Which isn’t bad starting out, but the characters relationships with each other feels like it’s in the middle of the story for me, and I guess those two feelings are clashing and leaving me wondering where things could go.
