Lol, Daoran deserved it. Even though he was the one who made the mistakes (leaving the sect for the other faction and not passing on the token) he was actually going to let his brother take all the blame. If he was a good friend he would have stepped up and told the truth but he instead played down his responsibility and tried to say he was only an accomplice.
