Guiltythree
So Sunny entered the nightmare and failed. Failed to protect his cohort and complete the nightmare. It seems more likley, with how the estuary resets the soul, that sunny was the only one to be corrupted at first, and then spread it to the rest of the cohort. This killed Nephis and led the rest to become defiled Nightmare Creatures. Kai became his master and in his wish to be free of shadow bond, he was placed in another. After doing this over and over and over and over again, he finally made a plan to wipe his defiled self from existence and give hope to his past(now current) self. What a story line.
Great chapter thanks. I think every time sunny reach the estuary he regressed until 0 state and new versions of his friends in 0 state appear (even if his friend are still in the previous loop) This make many versions of the same person appear in the river at the same time, each of those versions created every time sunny crosses the estuary. That explains how the old versions of them exists even when their new versions are there and explain how they can kill their old self
I hope Effie's baby is just a normal kid. If the baby is born with the power of a saint it will be quite ridiculous, comical at the very least. Effie pregnant is weird enough, a transcendent baby would be outrageous. It's like watching a dark superhero movie, like batman datk knight and suddenly an extremely powerful baby superhero appears. đ It makes more sense that it dies because of the power. Like a small cup trying to contain an ocean.
This chapter just shows both how much of a stubborn SOB Sunny is that he wonât even let defilement kill/control him and how much he cares about his friends that he wonât even let defilement kill them. Sunny just went get on my back boys we are going to make it out of this one way or another. The rewards he should get after this nightmare should be dumb. That said every time Sunny goes into these nightmares and struggles and claws to survive it breaks him mentally just a little bit more. The toll this is going to take on him is likely going to be immense.
it would be neat if the actual theme of the nightmare is "to defeat the corrupted form of yourself, from the 'past'". Like... you enter with a generated past where you are op corrupted that you need to defeat. But, really, I think the time loop idea is way cooler. I wonder how the time flow is affected outside the pyramid...
