Does that mean Sunny can strengthen his soul without necessarily killing other beings? like could he meditate or something? Seems like, because of the nightmare spell, all awakened strengthen their souls by killing.

OK, makes sense so far. would be really nice if Sunny learns (at least a bit) how to transcend and maybe even how to build/expand/control a domain by himself. i believe the carriers of the nightmare spell can still tread this path (at least for a bit) and would gain some benefits from the "natural" process instead of only leeching of from the spell.i will now go to my time machine to read the next chapter. who wants to join?
