Short chapters that read like a summaryary, they were basically enslaved and gained power then left and no one came looking for them? Especially when you have a noted sadist in the mix? Author, I’ll continue reading for the cultivation but you might need to add in more details on a rewrite and double up on the chapters to keep readers interested.
