getting a little unsure of some of the choices made by this author. is it more than one person writing it? it feels that way sometimes. that could be just a change in translators though

This feels less like a plotted story and more like an author writing whatever idea pops into mind. I’ve already accepted that this is a setting full of profoundly dumb people who treat perfectly normal ideas as an expression of profound genius, but adding schizo plotting on top of that is really tough to get past.

This side arc with the sci-fi part is kinda destroying the flow of the novel for me. It is just not right, and somehow too random, too forced, and it doesn't fit in.
