The only person Thor called son of, is Phill Coulson, cause he thought his family name is him saying he is the son of Coul, just like Thor is called Odinson = Son of Odin. He never called anyone of the avengers for instance with the moniker son of this or that, so him calling Kakarot son of Ben is kinda weird.
