choose pawniard since it is a dark type and not chimchar as there are great fire type pokemon with two evolutions like houndour which evolves into houndoom or larvesta which evolves into a volcarona wich is one of the strongest bug type pokemon and both of them are not that rare for the mc to be assasinated

I’m not sure what’s the point of this? MC is clearly at a disadvantage already and you’re only making it more difficult for him. In order to resolve this, the story would have to give him an even more unreasonable advantage otherwise we’ll just have a loser MC which would delude the quality of the story and potentially making plot holes.. It’s like a race to the bottom.

That's cool but don't have him get another pokemon for a while , kinda a waste if he gets all slightly flood but not outstanding talented pokemon because he rushed to fill out his bonds
