ok I also have this "crazy" theory : In the past life renshu was actually in love with caiyi ,but he thought he was not good enough for her as he considers her as very kind,generous,pure etc. therefore he was subconsciously avoiding her, as to not hurt her but to protect her from his sinister side. He was then attracted to xiaohua because she reminded him of caiyi. Therefore he thought that he"loved" xiaohua. And xiaohua used this chance to push away renshu from caiyi because she wanted caiyi to herself. This lead to the unfortunate events that followed🥲 i guess no one had bad intention but it was the circumstances and lack of communication that caused it.🙂

I actually kind of feel sorry for Renshu. I mean he was also at fault in the past, but who says Caiyi was not partially at fault, too. In their past life she trusted her sister too much and did not even notice that her younger sister was obsessed with her.
