I really would love to see a a Riftan pov on this chapter. I can tell seeing his wife in that state must really hurt him, so he couldn't control his anger. Riftan always said he wanted to protect her from any harm.

Okay, call me a hateful person, but I wanted the Duke to takr a bot more of a beating. Not that he'd be more hurt, or that he'd die, but just that he should have been in fear and experience the pain longer. Also THIS IS A CRUEL PLACE TO STOP THE CHAPTER, AUTHOR, OMG.
