That they could have been from the Laramie Ranch so that your main character enters the race and the prize being two day free pass to the safari zone. and instead of keeping all his Taruos he gives 28 to the ranch and keeps two. Just floating an idea.

As Ash will probably meet up with his friends sometime soon after the previous Raticate death and doesn't blame them for the accident sorta As Cynthia suggested some trainers were moron by winning the badges but losing in the Conference as she somewhat dissed OG Ash Ketchum Pokémon catch rotation antics in the anime ,which Ash( Austin) sweat dropped to bff Cythia unknown ribbing of OG Ash ?
