well that's alot to digest.. the princess consort is indeed smart... she went to the king instead of trying to blackmail Gu Wei.. so the king, will he go about his own investigation again to get Gu Wei now that's it's been brought up again by late princess consort.. Chu Yun may not be able to stomach torture but I think Gu Wei has been doing a good job handling her I don't think he's wrong.. I actually believe his method is better than giving the mercy of a quick death... after all someone dear was taken away from him. so what happened in Yun's past was it someone close to him? So Gu Wei and the queen consort was good friends, best friends but how does the late Prince mix in this and whose the child.... so we found out how the miscarriage happened, zai is closer to the throne with the first prince renouncing his right to the throne, we know who killed the late princess consort and in addition to that we found out which guard is the lover 😏... I think we're doing quite well right I hope Gu Wei doesn't go back to his fake smiles and stonic self again cause we really need to know the story behind the late Prince aswell as Gu Wei and the queen consort.

It sounds like in the past CY might've been kidnapped and tortured by people who held a grudge against either the Throne or his family. Bc I remember in one chapter he mentioned that it's best to get rid of an enemie's entire family, so the survivors don't eventually come after you down the line for revenge (like he was speaking from experience). 🧐

Why do I feel like the friend of Gu Wei's that Xiao Yuan's mother killed was actually the Queen Consort in this case, and NOT the Uncle? Bc I remember the Queen died unexpectedly/mysteriously, and everyone assumed it was GW that did it, but what if it was actually the crazy Concubine's fault? GW said she was very ambitious (before she went mad), so perhaps she killed the Queen in order to take over her position? Especially since she was the mother of the King's first alpha child/son (Xiao Yuan). So she probably thought she'd be made the new Empress once the old one was out of the way...🙀

Good job Gu Wei👏personally I believe death is a merciful way to punish someone coz it's quick and easy, that person also doesn't suffer like you suffered. So I believe Gu Wei is doing a good job by not killing her. Let the person suffer each day rather than suffer for a few minutes by death.

I love all the different types of relationships in this story. they're all so well developed.

Well, yeah, i can respect gu wei for wanting revenge. She murdered the Queen and her baby. Not sure how he made her so crazy, like he said, maybe she shouldn't have accumulated so many ghosts 🤷‍♀️ and the crown princess was literally trying to get him executed to win favor, so lucky she just got killed. Now, I really want to hear the details of his daughter's conception.

I respect Gu Wei a lot, his personality is the mix of all the suffering that has been brought upon him all his life, but yeah, he has what Chu Yun doesn't... I hope they make a team, after all Chu Yun is really intelligent and cunning but soft and Gu Wei needs to be free soon... I'm scared if something happens to him tbh.
