Maybe the King of Zui did it to have an excuse to get rid of Xiao Zai, or at least create problems for him. Since he hasn't been happy with Chu Yun's relationship with XZ, Chu Yun's scheming, and the potential progress XZ has been making at appearing like a better king than his brother. Plus, it's not like the King cares about the FP or the FP's child, which was clear when he gave him a beta concubine and wife instead of an omega.

I really, really love and enjoy how these characters are written and how even though they have their own hiccups about their relationship or their reaction to their relationship, the other person’s feelings are never doubted.
