I just love how differently all the familiar aspects of the other 2 novels are portrayed here, especially with altered being the only force capable of taking out beasts since beast gear no longer exists and won't be reintroduced to society for a long while. Just goes to show how much time can shape civilisation.

I appreciate that Tom is smart enough he gets the corporation might whack people who talk to keep things quiet. Hopefully that’ll eliminate a smart kid does stupid stuff storyline or if it happens we will find him more believable when he’s dumb enough to cross them but smart enough to take precautions or get away with it
