Nope, not good ending. I can't believe the FL first took 2 yrs to return . Seriously! She's previously sitting next to his hospital bed for 6 mths, practically dying with him to then say "goodbye " the moment he wakes up. OK fine, she left. I was thinking oh maybe a month, 2 yrs!! Secondly, they're dating, are you for real? On top of that, it's mentioned it took a month after her return for the 1st date. Another year lapses! This read is realllllly dragging out FL leads issues. I get she had to resolve her emotional turmoil. One being ML's rejection. Was this not forgiven when she was screaming like a banshee when she thought ML dead? Anyway, bit disappointing. I thought when I was about to read the Epilog 1yr layer", that she would be with baby bump or something or at happily married. Not dating!
Hmmmm...I think the reader above combined the alternate ending with the original ending, combiningthem intothe same timeline? In any case, I loved the unexpected ending. Serenity was a broken woman. The four years she spent in her adopted pack could not undo the 14 years of extreme physical and psychological abuse. She took the time she needed to heal and become the person she should have been, not the beaten down, timid, shell of a person she was living as. Thank you author for giving us a woman in control of her life. It was refreshing!
