I understand why you wanted to kill the two off. but I really do feel like it was outside the character for what they did. both of them are very loyal to their family killing themselves would have put the family in horrible straits. to be honest I heavily expect Fang Kai to miscarry because of this. I really don't understand why they didn't think to at least try to have their wife use her magic powers to fix their wounds if they are that worried about it. anyway with her powers didn't they think that maybe they could just trick others into thinking that one of the kids that her other husbands have could be theirs?? all she'd really have to do is have two of her husband's air quote not be seen for a couple months while one of the husband's is pregnant.
