The concept of wanting to be "a hundred times greater, a thousand times greater- etc etc greater than perfection" and not wanting to reach perfection is such a paradox. I could get MC not ever want to stop improving but, he wants to not reach perfection, but at the same time wanting to be better than perfection don't line up. Its like going north and south at the same time, or turning left and right at the same time. Perfection is exactly what it is, perfection.

Perfection can not exist. If you can not get better, you are faulty. If you can get better, you are not at your peak
