or it might be possible she did a technique which she can fuse her soul to a vessel. as for how she ended up in lower plain, it might be possible that she escaped during the war, with a damaged cultivation, made a pact with Yaana's family an did a taboo technique, a soul transfusion or something alike, which causes her death. it might be possible to say that through Nuri, Ryu was born in the lower plain by means of Fate.
Ok let’s break this down, Yanna looks exactly like Nuri, the Mysteries of Heaven and Earth say that everything about her from her appearance, aura, and even her karmic connection to Ryu is the same as Nuri not similar but the same. Plus the way Nuri would react to Elena’s teasing in the first few chapters it’s safe to say she loves Ryu as well and probably wouldn’t be with another man. As his death guard she would have been with him every step of the way as he researched the Phoenix Sky God and their legacy. it’s theoretically possible using all the hints she gathered with Ryu and with 900 million years she could have figured out where and when Ryu would reincarnate. Though how she could have reincarnated or regressed her age and memories to that of an infant I have no idea. I need more chapters this is going to drive me crazy until tomorrow
