Theory 1 )Alice, in her maddened state, subconsciously gave her crazed urges to her son psychically and since she is only asleep she never stopped. When she wakes up she’ll realize what happened and stop it and him. Theory 2) Alice wakes up and, in Riley’s attempt to kill her, casually stops him with no effort to the point the Riley realizes he’s not the big bad in the story… he’s her son Theory 3) If i‘m lucky I get a combo of both.
