well the common higher races in most fantasy stories are demons, angels, and sometimes dragons and elves. could add celestials to that list but most of the time celestials are basically that story's version of either elves or angels. daemons or archons could be a good choice. titans and djinns might could be included among their numbers. there's one book that uses anima as a race one step higher than beast kin. of course those are just the commonly used ones in fantasy.
