so I mentioned before that the dialog felt stiff and I think I just realised a big part of it, you don't use contractions very often. Usually while speaking normally people tend not to say "I am" unless they're trying to put specific attention on that part, instead preferring to use "I'm". The same goes for many other everyday contractions such as "we're", "we'll" and so on. I think, if you use contractions more often, it would make the conversations your characters have feel more authentic and less robotic. Obviously it's hard to tell when you should and shouldn't use contractions, but I think consciously thinking about it might make it easier and more obvious where it belongs.
