i feel like they got played. trigon always wanted to possess Raven, and they just made the work easier for him. in the first place, how was trigon even chained ?

I hope that Raven doesn't betray him during or after the fight because she became evil or something because of all the absorbed powers. If she is I hope that he can save her by beating her just like a DBZ character.
