I initially wondered if he got together with her because of this threat in the book, but then I remembered that in the book fl wasn’t able to completely cure the grandmother because the disease had progressed too far (NH brought her here sooner in this timeline) and I don’t think that grandma long would let her grandson ruin his lifelong happiness just to prolong her life a little bit. However it could be a hint that there was something fishy about the 2 of them getting together in the book, maybe this good senior brother played a role in scheming
