I think i see the reasoning behind the actions, and i can concieve of his plan maybe working. But holy loydus was it abrupt. Even to the readers, the beginning of the chapter had "running away" and the end of the chapter has "kill everyone". Without being clued in, even Slightly, about what he's going to do or circumstances about why it would work, just doesn't leave anywhere for my suspension of disbelief to go. Going to a barber and finding out its a theme park for saxophones isn't shocking, thats just sloppy writing.

"This is HolyJoker" doesnt excuse the abruptness and sloppy execution after the build up. Unless the author hinting that the MC is actually mental, then this is just a disappointing characterization.
