Oh no what happened to Skender 😟 Will Rox call for help ir will she tend to him herself 🤔 I know I need to be patient for them to realize they are meant together but man how I just wish they would stop tip toeing around each other🤦♀️ Until then we will see how they keep avoiding the oull towards each other.
Today, Monday, April 11, 2022, is a good day for the releasing of a bonus chapter or two. I must know exactly what happened to King Alexander and what Roxana will do to help him recover. At this point, I do not think anyone else has the “power” to help him or satisfy his physiological, psychological, or emotional needs.
Many memories coming back in this chapter. Rayven gulping BOTH the hot tea and coffe that Angelica prepared but mainly… Angelica, her mother, the witch and the cave. Skender is reliving a memory of his past. I believe it must be the moment when they took him to the witch to numb his demon. Looks like it happened more than once as he didn’t want to go because he knew it hurt. His demon must’ve resisted just like when Marie did the spell… Why is this happening now? I don’t know. Is this his demon going rogue? Does it have to do with tasting and then resisting to take her blood (which by the way was a surprise, I hadn’t realized he had drawn a little of it last night)? This is the third mention to it. Blood. The first one was several chapters ago. He wondered how it would taste, just as he wondered some other time what kind of sound she would make… As Zarus said last chapter, archdemons, being closer to the origin are more “animalistic”. They crave blood from time to time so this time around it isn’t only about the marking and the desire but also about the blood itself… “You are strong” “It will end someday”. By numbing his demon, he was made to be like the other children with whom he could now play which makes me wonder if his demon was already acting out back then…? Sounds like it. Children have a harder time restraining their emotions and containing themselves so it isn’t unlikely that his demon would have emerged while playing. The poor thing must’ve been isolated and hence the question. “Will I be normal”? and the promise of being able to play with the other children and be like them… I think that contrary to his feelings and thoughts, Skender was loved by his parents, his grandmother and Ramona who I’m sure didn’t just easily shifted her interest. His mother seemed to have faith just like her. This “It will end someday” holds hope. Maybe she knew that it would when he found his mate. Well, that day is here but he has to make the whole process, face everything, his fears, the truth, go through the pain, just like Lucrezia said…
Oh, what a cliffhanger! I would appreciate bonus chapters at this very moment. I need to know what caused Skender to collapse. Was it the stress from the remembrance of his childhood trauma(s) or was it the stress from trying to deny himself of his mate? Likely, he is feeling stress from both. Hopefully, Roxana will not panic because Skender collapsed. Because she is a nurturer, Roxana has the skills to take good care of him. I am pleased she went back to check on the welfare of the man for whom she cares so deeply. It just occurred to me that the destroyer has had enough of the masquerade and has decided to override Skender, claim Roxana as his woman, and let the kingdom business take care of itself. In the final analysis, a happy king will make a happy kingdom.
