Part 1 Skender is down, fighting not just his demon but his demons. The issue isnāt whether he will wake up or not, but how. Having failed as a protector, feeling betrayed by her but also by himself. Feeling he failed and pushed her toward him, struggling to believe or not what Constantine saidā¦ that struggle is what will make him wake up one way or another. My personal opinion is that he will wake up with some resemblance of normality, but he wonāt be entirely himself anymore. I mean, if he were to wake up in full destroyer mode there would be no story left, would it? Heād be killed by the Arch shortly after as Lucrezia said. For story purposes I think we will have to see him walk the line between the bright and the dark side. With this duplicity āDefender vs Destroyerā I am afraid that we will be seeing some Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kind of behavior. He will be very tempted by the dark and we will need a team effort to help him. William, Rayven, Angelica, the Lordsā¦ and eventually the woman who will become his love. All that said, I think defender and destroyer are two sides of one same coin. The power itself is nor good nor bad. Skenderās challenge will be being able not only to control it but to use it wisely. The will of the man with strong principles and ethics and a good and pure heart should rule over the power and the demon and not the other way around. It was good seeing the Lords. Ash and Zarus are so refreshing to the story. They seem to continue having some issues but Iām glad they are arguing instead of Ash locking himself at home. Iām also glad Zarus came back, and he isnāt giving Rayven a hard time. The amalgam of feelings Rayven is going through right now, pride, jealousy paired with guilt, worry and sorrow, isnāt a walk in the park. Last chapter I said that there is a conversation Rayven and Angelica need to have. About their feelings, about how they feel about one another, āI love youā and all. Because it is important to put things into words. She also needs to tell him how she feels about Skender, how it is very different from how she feels about him, both now and before. But Rayven also needs to do some internal work. His admission was very important. āI am still selfish. My pride... my pride is hurtā. Without lectures, she reconvened him to whatās important with one question and an assurance. āI am safe nowā. Letās see if he can overcome himself. It might even be that even this was part of Lucreziaās plan. His change needs to be put to test. For the time being heās taking responsibility and thatās very important. But better than blaming himself right now what he ought to do is fight. Heāll have to fight for him and stand by his side. Skender helped him, supported his wedding despite his plans, believed in him and called him out when it was needed. I think than more than for saving Angelica, he owes him for that. And for all the other times when he tried to help her or William, by going to the witches or before that, when Rayven had his head up hisā¦ As for Constantineā¦ Yes, heāll be back. Heās not done with Skender. He isnāt done riling him up. And Angelica and Rayven are mated then? looks like the blood she took from him sufficedā¦ Hopefully next time it will be better as the honeymoon ended quite abruptly. But for the time being, I think we can be satisfied. He was able to sense her both times, in this state of affairs, thatās more important than romance.
Tricky business, how do we get any kind of confirmation from someone who is dead? Like Constitine said, visions are unreliable (sorry that probably isnāt a direct quote). I mean we all want to know, but will it be helpful if she finds out? Maybe just to understand the enemy more? I am just playing devils advocate here. I hope maybe it might help Skender heal but find a new mate will probably help more.
Perhaps Angelica can see more when she touches Rayven's fangs. š¤ And Skender, be well please ššš (should he have some of Wills blood ? what if the blood from before wasn't enough and he needed more? there was little or none effect at all back then..or maybe it took time..maybe it was the start/trigger of awakening his demon but not enough?) And Rayven you're not becoming Demos...you've changed and we've seen that , don't go back to being him. thanks for the chapter Jazzyš
What a heartfelt chapter! I just love how Angelica nonchalantly asked Rayven if she could touch his fangs. šš Angelica- "Hey babe, can I touch your fangs?" Rayven- Stange look on his face, "why?" Angelica- "Well I want to see if it will trigger me to dream about Romana and see if I can try and get answers." Rayven- "Umm I do not think that's a good idea." Angelica- "I'll be okay, I just want to see what we can find out." Rayven- "Okay." Anything for his Angel!
