Ok, so how many times will we fall in love with Rayven over the next 3 days?! I hope these 3 days last as long as the prior dang week of their marriage! I hope they go to that party with Lucrezia. Angelica will be more and more seduced by this world. I am so thrilled by this time alone for them š
Part 2 I think this chapter is so fundamental in so many waysā¦ And once again I find myself feeling so thankful. Of course, I cannot predict anything but just express my hope for the friendship of these two females. I presume Lucrezia is very lonely and has a very tough job. And Angelicaā¦ sheās so alone. Women need women around, and I think that in this chapter that is also the point. Lucrezia encouraging Rayven to treat his wife, being friendly to her, asking and offering advice. Helping her feel comfortable in a place where her husband hardly can. Not because heās uncomfortable but because heās considerate of herā¦ No one could do that but another femaleā¦ And she keeps helping him, it almost makes me cry. If after this, he doesnāt notice or acknowledge itā¦ I give up. And thenā¦ third most fundamental part. Jasmine, really, thank you so much. Angelica had no choice but to try to survive and settle. And she fought so hard also because however bad things were, she couldnāt bring herself to settle at the same time. Of course, she also had an instinct that drew her to him, made her trust him despite how rude he was, but he behaved so badly that if she had had a choice she wouldāve or shouldāve left him behind. Itās what, as a friend I wouldāve advised. Thatās what makes nowadays even worse. We have the freedom that she didnāt have and such incredibly low standards sometimes... Of course, the problem is more complex, we have upbringing, and culture yet again to think about, but it is always something that bothers me big time. As charming as a personal shopper Rayven is, what we need is something else. Respect, a voice, a place, but it wonāt happen if we donāt give it to ourselves. The reflection on Rayven being always compared to men who were worse is priceless because this is something we do all the time. The measure of a partner can never come from that. Things that are good in comparison, are they really good or are they just not that bad? Of course, we may have other sorts of problems like unreachable standards that may just be masking something else such as a desire (alien to ourselves) of not being paired, but clearly this isnāt Angelicaās case. And Rayvenās growth, enlightening and expansion through love is bringing out something else. A man they can both respect. The man she dreamed of having is a man that never had the opportunity to emerge and that now, past pride and abuse is being shaped. And that man, Rayven, is the only version of yourself with which youāll ever be comfortable, as all the others, you hateā¦ As for the rest of the discoveriesā¦ Well, we already knew Skender was the prettiest as heās an Archdemon and the more powerful the Demon, the more striking the beauty, it seems. Vitale is the oldest as we just found out, so after Lucrezia and Skender heās next prettiest with his fair hair and his golden eyes. Our dear Lord Rayven is the best warrior and the baddiest sin among the baddies but he isnāt the prettiest (and yet he was punished for his vanity) or the most powerful and I actually love that. We have this syndrome that the lead has to be the most of the mostā¦ so what if he isnāt? Their beauty and power as it is is already too much and besides we donāt or shouldnāt love them for that. As for Rayven never ever noticing anyoneā¦ I donāt find it romantic. I find it sad. It speaks more to how closed he was. Thereās always a girl or a boy that we like growing up. I figured his father took care of that. For me this goes along with him not being able to find anyone kind. Before being punished he didnāt care, but afterā¦ Itās just not statistically possible not finding anyone kind in 400 years. The problem was his, not what was around. As he said, he was too self-absorbed to notice, so at least he recognizes it nowā¦ It shouldnāt take so much but in some cases it does. An extraordinary woman to open up and extraordinarily blind, stubborn broken man. Thanks Jasmine for so much šš
Part one Super interesting chapter. I was glad Angelica moved on from her jealousy/distrust quite fast (although I think we will be seeing more of that, until she an Lucrezia have a good enlightening chat) and was positively surprised by Rayven. For him to be calm and unannoyed around Lucrezia, donāt be mad girls, but I canāt help but find that to be the greatest testament to his radical change. I have been wondering and waiting for the moment when Rayven will finally recognize how much he owes her. Not saying that the momentās here just yet but this here is already amazing. I think the whole conversation about the mating bond was very meaninguful. As with love, and faith, only those who experience it truly understand it but the more I hear about it, the less differences I find with a āregularā fully committed kind of loveā¦ āThey say two individuals become mates before mating and thatās when the mating worksā said Lucrezia which only reaffirms that the bond is just a seal, as Rayven said. The attraction with which it beginsā¦ is no different from what we go through as humans as well. I believe the main difference is not between love and mating but between marriage and mating. When marriage is honored, it is the same but as humans can marry for multiple reasons, imposed political marriages among them, then you find the difference right there. The mating bond is like a marriage where the priest is the bond itself and it sees through the individuals, even through the lies they might tell themselves. If the conditions arenāt right, it will not settle. Itās like if marriage had a self-insurance mechanism and would only be granted to those who truly love each other and are dedicated to one another. As a believer that we need to work through things this leads me to believe that a determined couple might try to mate at some point and not succeed and then succeed later on once certain issues are solved. Not that I believe people should try lightly as it not working may result in making things worse, just tend to think that it takes more than love to make things work. We can love and not trust, for instance. Or love in a very destructive wayā¦ I believe the beauty of this idea of the bond is that it seems to seek balance, that both parties are certain and well. Thatās why I doubt for instance that a bond among Rayvenās parent wouldāve worked.
This was an amazing chapter! I absolutely love how Angelica and Lucrezia are now bonding. Lucrezia will be such a way better friend than Angelica's old, so-called friends! Lucrezia is Angelica's girl crush, lol. I love the whole luch date and how Rayven was teasing Angelica bahahaha. I can not wait for the next chapter! I can not wait for Rayven and Angelica to attend Lucrezia party. Party time! Thanks again, Jasmine!
