I am growing more impressed with our Rayven in each chapter. He is starting to reveal his true feelings to Angelica. She already trusts him, and he just needs to reinforce that to her before dropping the demon bomb. I love all the advice from his friends: the only ones he has been able to trust before he met William and Angelica.
Is it just me or is the wait between chapters a lot longer all of a sudden? 😂😂 I am so impatient! Rayven will surprise himself I bet and be able to take care of his Angel better than he thinks. He already has shown his more gentle loving side as well as his restraint when needed. He just needs to trust himself more and I think Angelica’s trust in him will help him to learn how to trust himself.
Getting a little nervous about when he tells her 😳 He seems to really be falling for her not only caring for her but loving her. He is worried once he tells her who he is she will leave him 😞 I am loving his growth towards redemption and allowing himself to heal. Just keep going to her Rayven and fight the dark.thoughts, she is hour Angel 🥰
This was a emotional chapter. I absolutely loved every bit of it. Rayven needs to get out of his head sometimes. I am loving how Rayven is becoming. I am a little nervous when he tells Angelica who/what he is. I think she'll be in shock, scared at first but then come to terms with it and it will answer her questions she has had. Thanks for the chapter Jasmine!
Part 2: “He sat down on the bed to watch her” Such an atemporal scenario. This scene though void of sensuality is still intimate, and I love it, so simple, so prosaic and yet with so much meaning attached to every action and every word. We are getting to see so many shades of Rayven. We’ve come from a cheerful seductive Rayven who a little disconcerted and almost blinded us, to one who despite being afraid voices commitment, as a first step. One who has told her that he cares. “Very much”, and let me tell you, what a counterpart to her “I know you care for me too, even a little”, I almost cried. So many things I love from this chapter, how Sarah is no longer afraid, how all of a sudden, he can hear different thoughts regarding himself, Afterall it wasn’t solely prejudice about his face. It was what he created as well. It just isn’t possible not finding a kind individual here and there for 400 years… As always, loved the scene with the lords. They knew he was after something with the marriage, they knew he wanted to die. Now he has his heart and what scares him most are she finding out what he is, and his dark thoughts that he doesn’t know how to get rid . Things have really changed. I was very interested when he thought, again, about Skender’s powers. He seems to have great faith in them. As if they can fight the darkness… even in himself? I hope Skender finds them soon, although for himself. Rayven has to do his own work. He has a long-term relationship with pain that goes all the way back to his father. It really is going to take time. I think the job Jasmine is doing is AMAZING. Here we thought, and not unreasonably so, that it would take the shades to bring Rayven to his knees. It wasn’t necessary, they managed on their own. Jasmine is deliberately making them make the progress together, little by little getting closer, committing, trusting, sharing. This scene I found so beautiful because it was about decision and commitment, honesty, support and cared. Both voiced and put to action. Thank you Jasmine, once again💕💕💕💕
Part one: There are so many different aspects to a relationship, to a bond. Intimacy is in itself is so broad. Maybe there isn’t a point in separating and classifying them. But it does help when trying to explain. They have been going through many of these aspects lately. Mutual help and reassurance, disclosure and discovery, erotism and sensuality, pain and surrender, the intimacy of it all. All of these moments, building and strengthening the bridge that has emerged from one to the other. After the breaking point that brought surrender, things could no longer go back to the way they were before. Everything is now new and uncertain, beautiful and scary. This is the place where things finally begin to be built out of choice and will and not just out of reaction or inevitability anymore. This is where Rayven decides that he wants to live although he’s scared that he may not want to or may just accidentally die. This is the place where he finally begins to wonder how to do things right. By her, and by him as well, if he wants to have a future with her. This when he’s so afraid of his darkness. It only takes to want to live in the light to feel darkness’ pull sucking you down…This is also the moment when he’s restless between what he now wants and what he’s used to wanting, what he wants to be but doesn’t know how. The moment when he’s most afraid of himself, of not making the grade and running away or not being able to handle her innocence. But this is also the moment when he’s most honest with himself and with her. “I don’t know how to, but I want to, even if I might do it wrong, I want to do right by you because I care, I care a lot”. Despite his fears, the part of himself that wants, wants it all and knows that there is no other way than telling her everything, hoping that she’ll accept him and going through with the mating bond. He has also finally found out what he could’ve found out long ago, had he only asked or wanted to know.
