3 CHAPTER TWO - The Relationship Begins

~January 4, 2022.

Well, one thing about me, I sure do love the fourth and any Tuesday, not because of what's about to happen but because of a future event.

So, back into it, I remember very well, it's a Tuesday and no I did not have to check on the calendar. So, the time is 19:17 as we say it here in Zambia, in your country, you probably say 7:17 PM. So, the conversation displayed below is a conversation that was had over the phone, on Instagram, not through a phone call but through text messages.

Selena: Well guess what?

Me: What?

Selena: I like you too.

Me: (Already knew that but acts surprised) Wow! You don't know how happy you have made me feel.

Selena: Same. So what now? Do you have a girlfriend? Because a guy like you cannot be single.

Me: If her name is Selena, then I have a girlfriend. Lol (Laugh out loud)

That was the start of a relationship I enjoyed but didn't realize what the future was to bring. That is just a clip of the conversation. The full conversations would be a book on it's on, trust me.

So yeah, the night was a really great night. That conversation was the best as I said back then. As we continued talking, Joseph kept on trying to see who I was talking to, but he already knew. Michael was in the sitting room. Here in Zambia, we call it a SITTING ROOM not living room. So yeah, that's where he was. I don't know what he'd ever do there.

The next day, Selena's results were released, and she passed her grade 9 with excellent results same with Esther. I will not say what they faired for their privacy, but it was above 500 out of 600 which is really good. That same day, Selena came home to see Esther as everyone in the house knew it but, in reality, she'd use seeing Esther as her way to see her new boyfriend, me! Well, it wasn't all the time that she'd come just for me. Sometimes, it was for Esther.

So right now, this is present me talking as in 2023 Gabriel. I'm just hoping Selena's father doesn't read this book because I might be in some trouble. I think I'm getting used to it though, Hehe.

So back to 2022. Around 15:48, if I'm not wrong, Selena came to my room, and I immediately chased Joseph out of the room. It was just Selena and I in the room.

Selena: I'm feeling shy, I don't even know why.

Me: (Repeats after her) I'm feeling shy. What's there to feel shy about?

Selena: Why do it from there?

Me: If we do it from this other door, my mum might see us, so it's better here.

Selena: No, like, the angle. The angle at the door is better.

Me: Here is just fine

Selena: Ah.

Selena gathered her strength and courage and stood in front of me, and I remember her exact words. She said, "mm, now what?" And that's when I placed my hands on her waist and she put her hands round my neck, we both closed our eyes and kissed, slowly and softly, thinking about nothing and just feeling the moment. Feeling her soft lips press against mine and moving in a chewing motion was something I never felt in almost a year. The last kiss I had was in the rain, with Mapepo but, that's a story for another day.

After a minute or so, Selena pulled back slowly and walked out of the room without saying a thing, leaving me in shock and questioning myself. Like, "was I that bad? But, no, I couldn't have been bad. I've mastered that art and gotten comments. I am a god at this," I cannot believe I said that. Then again, I didn't let the negativity get to me and added a little bit of positivity and cheered myself saying, "No! Gabriel, you aren't bad. You were so good that it left her speechless, and her mind ran away from her body for a minute and yeah, you know the vibes. You were damn good that it made her walk away without saying a thing."

Well, another thing you should know, I am never wrong! Hehe. So yeah, when Selena and I spoke on the phone, she said she didn't even know why she just walked away but, just as I thought, she said I was good, she said, she didn't expect such and yeah you know what people say when something's good. In short, your favorite Ice Cream flavor or Pizza flavor and how nice it is and how lovely it tastes, I can smell it, can you smell it? Yep, that's just how good I was.

Oh! Wait, I just realized, you all should be confused as to how Selena and I just kissed. No, we did not read each other's minds, like I said, yesterday's conversation was pretty long and yeah. I asked when I'd get my first kiss. (I don't even know why I asked, pretty dumb) Oh, never mind that, hehe. So, yeah, that's how we get back to today's kiss.

So, that was my first kiss with Selena and yeah, basically, everything went so well. The only thing I never liked was how it was hard for her to completely forget about what happened between her and her ex-boyfriend. She really tried and I'm sure by now, she's over it. I hope.

Days went on and on and Selena would come home and the same would happen, over and over and over. It almost became like a daily thing. Things actually advanced, this time, Selena would actually climb and sit on top of me and that's how we'd kiss and always hug after a kiss, with my head leaning on her chest.

I remember this one day when we were laying on my bed and yeah, you know the rest. BUT one thing y'all should know is I'm a virgin till date and when I say till date, I mean even during the time that I'm writing this novel (2023).

Yeah, I released my first 2022 album, SK.16 which was actually named after Selena and the 16, is for her birthday, March 16. As I am writing this novel, I'm just thinking of how NM will react when she reads it. Anyway….

So, I released the album on January 22, 2022, and things took a terrifying turn 5 days later, on a Thursday. Ahh man, I hate Thursday. I always have and I always will. So, Selena got back from school, and we were talking over the phone on WhatsApp and her mother suddenly entered her room. Selena panicked and hid the phone under her pillow, but her mother already saw and got the phone, unlocked it and found it on my chat. Yes, Selena's mother found out.
