8 CHAPTER SEVEN - It All Goes Wrong! Pt. 2

Okay, where was I? I was 70% not okay with this and 30% okay with it. So I told Selena that she can give it to me. So now let's go to March 18. On this day, Selena said that when she got back from school, her and her father went over to Chichi's place.

What Selena told me was that they went there to talk to Chichi's mother about how Chichi and Natalie always insult her. Before this, they went to Natalie's place, but Natalie lied to Mr. K that her mother was praying. What a way to save yourself. Selena didn't tell me this, Natalie did. You'll know in time.

So after that, Mr. K and Selena went to Chichi's place where they found Chichi's mother and Chichi. I won't really say what they spoke about but all I know was that I shouldn't have posted Selena on Instagram because Selena tried to make herself look like a good girl but that's the thing, Chichi had something against Selena and told Mr. K everything she knew about Selena and even told Mr. K that boys post her and showed Mr. K the post I made on Instagram.

Now here's the thing, during the time Selena and Mr. K were at Chichi's place, Selena's mother came home, to my place. I was just minding my own business, bypassing the front door and I heard a knock at the front door. I opened it and saw Mrs. K. She then asked me, "Is Selena here?" "No, she is not" I responded. "Selena is not here?" She asked again like she didn't believe me the first time. "No." I said again.

It was at that time my mother came from the kitchen and saved me when she told Mrs. K that Selena wasn't here and didn't even come that day. That's when Mrs. K believed. If my mother wasn't there to tell her, I don't know where our conversation would've gone. Thank God for mothers.

I don't know much of what happened and the thing is at that time, I didn't know what was going on. Selena told me that Chichi was scolded and that everything was settled. Selena did not tell me the truth which was that her father knew about us. I did not even know what happened at Chichi's place. Chichi had to tell me herself, but not that same day of course, later on in the future, like 7 months from now (March). That's a story for another day.

So I was happy that Chichi was blasted and put in her place, not knowing that what Selena told me wasn't the truth.

Everything went well that Friday, the next day. Saturday, 19th March, 2022. I remember, it was 18:26. My room has a door that leads outside and Selena came and wanted to whine on me that day. She put on a white jersey and a somewhat short dress which she covered with a chitenge. She told me she'd be in a dress and cover a chitenge. Michael was in the bedroom too and that's when Michael said, "I'm not coming out of the bedroom just for you two ah ah". Time passed and it was getting late so Esther escorted Selena back and yeah, you know the story.

Let's just rewind a little back to around her birthday. Selena told me that she knew the password to her father's phone and I clearly told her not to use her father's phone to text me but she's really stubborn and will do whatever it takes to get what she wants and that was to talk to me.

So, Saturday night. After Esther escorted her and yeah. I was talking to Selena at around 20. One thing I did not know was that Selena was using her father's phone to text me, something I clearly told her not to do and I always used to tell her to clear our chats on Instagram. She used to do it, but stopped and here's the thing, I did not know that she was talking to me using her father's phone.

As always, she just went offline all of a sudden and now here's the problem. Our last conversation was about her telling me that she always comes here to see me, so for a change, I should go to her place so that she whines on me and all. I don't know why this whining thing was so important to her. "Maybe it's a ritual. Hmm?" Anyway. So I wasn't going to church the next day because I had Math work to do or Mr. Mtika was going to use his favorite lines while holding a hosepipe, "If you know your book isn't here or you didn't do the work, don't even waste my time!" Adam knows the words, he'll tell you.

So she then said she won't go to church the next day too and man, I don't know what was happening and she asked if she should fake a migraine or something and I told her, I don't know, you always find something so figure it out. After that message and our agreement that she'll come home and then we'll go to her place, she suddenly went offline.

Now, it was a normal thing for her to go offline all of a sudden because she did not have her own phone so I took it as something normal. What I didn't know was that Selena had been caught by her father.

Now, let me explain how.

She was using her father's phone without him knowing and went to her room. So when her father, Mr. K, noticed that his phone was missing, he called it using another phone and heard it ring in Selena's room.

I don't know if this happens in your country, but here in Zambia when someone calls you like a direct call, the network switches to 2G, which means you can't do anything on the internet.

So Mr. K went to Selena's room and got the phone from Selena and she didn't have time to log out because the network switched to 2G. Selena's father found his phone on Selena's Instagram account, on my chat.

I don't know if I've missed anything there but at least I've told you what I was told.
