I hope Mei will be alright in Jin Qing's hands! Or maybe he agreed to get engaged with Mei to protect her? (hopefully not to sell the fam(Long's, now the Yuan's included) out,knowing bout the chaos in the Empress' turf) I wonder too why Mei agreed to this engagement. There is a deeper reason to that I feel. thanks for the chapters💕

I have this suspicion that Qing is the one whom was involved, not Hu. Qing stated his brother was good and Mei was a good match for him, but Qing himself isnt either. He may have been the cause of the accident in that they wanted to send him a message by harming his brother and Mei. Or they also believed Hu was involved instead of him. Just a thought.
