Something that feels off to me is the lack of culture when describing the slums. Even in the most violent and criminally ridden places on earth people still have their own music, religion, etc. Without these the slums feel empty and one dimensional.
i am completely bored with this whole arc. like yeah i get that homeboy needs time to consolidate and improve right but like whats with this random and boring filler.
