This could easily be a plot of obvious bad guys are not really evil. Maybe they are fighting against something and need help. I suspected something was up at the beginning of the novel. Because the Nak looked at him with pity in the description of the dream. That does not sound like invaders but who knows at this point. I am speculating.

oh man this is huge’! khan is really shaken up, hope he can find his resolve. it can be so hard to bounce back when your foundation is shattered like that. i’m so happy he has liiza in his life they are so supportive of each other!! real ride or dies
