Ok here’s my theory. I think Simon is getting impatient and this is the way to rip off the bandaid and make Mel see that Conner isn’t the one she really wants to be with. She’s hung up with how she thinks she should feel and not how she actually feels now. My question now is how is he going to win her.
Go ahead Mel! You have to deal with him in ways he will understand: forcefully. The thing is, Mel doesn’t want a relationship with Conner right now. Simon, you are not making good moves right now.

I almost wonder if he is somewhat hurt that she was hung up on Connor and not him so that why he does this? Maybe he thinks doing that will make her either accept that she still has feelings for Connor or that she doesnt and she will say it out loud for everyone to hear. 🤔 Sam has to have had some sort or reasoning to say such things for all to hear.
I loved it, The SLAP! He deserved it a bit. He's such a stupid fellow. He should've given it a little time as both of them are confused about their actual feelings. Now he gave a way to Connor, who is also in the beginning of a confused state regarding his feelings for Mel. This Simon is a frustratingly stupid fellow at times.
