Tristan seems to be a sweet child while Roman is a lil stiff. Roman might have felt a bit of happiness when Tristan defended him calling him brother. Roman's step-mom doesn't seem too bad. Hopefully except for ignoring his existence she doesn't took an effort to bully or torture him. Don't you feel Julie is becoming more daring around Roman? Roman is giving her obvious hints of his interest in her. Though she is catching it at times she's also obviously ignoring it. Roman and Julie are finding solace in each other's presence, which they are not alerting others neither to each other, kind of like a mutual silent agreement.
Roman has such an appetite he ate all of Julie's chips š š¤£š glad they are spending tine together ā¤ Will Roman open up to her and reveal part of his story?? of course leaving behind the fact that he is a vamp š§āāļø ?? why did Roman said Tristan is not his brother?? is it because he is an illegitimate child so he feels like they're not related?? or is it because Tristan truly is not Mr.Moltanore's child??? Did all of his family truly d.i-e.d?? or were they also turned into vampires š§āāļø š§āāļø š¤
So this room is more than just his old student dorm, this was Romanās childhood bedroom & straightaway he sees the window as a route to freedom, where there are no grates or grills stopping him from leaving. No wonder how he knows how to open it in silence. To leave his home at 6 years old & have to go to live with practically strangers must have been hard for him. He must have missed his mother terribly & he wasnāt welcomed at the Moltenore mansion with warmth and love. Instead he is locked in a room with little contact. Although his step-mother whispers her woes & displeasures about him, he can still hear how he is unwanted and the butler wasnāt discrete with his words. No wonder Roman is guarded & likes to keep people at a distanceā¦. he is used to looking out for himself and being on his own. However, he seems to have a protective streak - like with Julie - he went to Tristanās aid and of all methods of violence he bit into Griffinās leg. How ironic that he becomes a vampire?! Its interesting that Griffin is also from the past, for this seems to have happened a long time ago. Roman accuses Tristan of lying about being brothers. Is it because he does not share the same mother & feels as if he is not treated as family? Is it because Tristan has not stuck up for him like a big brother should when the butler turned him away? Roman & Julie are continuing to have these conversations whereby he twists her words and answers with his own questions. Its the letters that have given them this connection that he shares with no other, as she opened up to him in them about her scars, Natalieās bullying & her glasses. But she knows little about him however he is paying far more attention to her than any other girl. He constantly probes as to whether she is interested in himā¦. does he want her to be? Instantly Julie tells him that he is not her type. I think that she honestly believes her own assertion but the way he stirs feelings in her chest and makes her blush, I think she ādoth protest too muchā & she is slowly becoming aware of how she reacts to him. While Roman is becoming very aware that the letters arenāt about teasing anymore; Julie intrigues him & he is drawn to her. I think they are both hurt & somehow broken by their pasts so they have built walls to guard themselves & self defence mechanisms to protect themselves from others. They both like to keep people at a distance. For example, Julie isnāt even that open with Melanie and Connor. In fact, she has been far more honest with Roman. The fact that Roman has done something out of character & unpredictable by staying in her/his dorm, shows how he is starting to open up a bit. His red eyes & hunger for crisps imply to me that he craves Julieās blood but she isnāt like the other girls who he would suck blood from without a second thought. He is distracting himself & trying to feed his thirst in other ways to protect her. For although he keeps his guard up, he also wants to protect Winters! Another great chapter packed with detail. Seems like Roman has always been cold and distant to everyone I guess his life experience made him like that ā¹ but im glad he has been improving just because of Julie's presence at Veteris and most importantly he only finds himself been like this towards her and not anyone else as he still doesn't like to relate to others But was Tristan nice to.him.back in the day?? or was it only because he helped him out?? I so want to know more about Roman's past life and how did he turn into a vamp??? why did Roman said that they're not brothers?? one last question how does Roman manage to change his eye color?
Looks like Tristan and Rome had a good relationship after that event. Except Tristanās mom is being such a nuisance and would probably insist for Tristan not to get closer with Rome. Nice to see some glimpse of Romanās past. Weāre learning more about him slowly. š„ŗ I love this late night talk with Julie! I hope they can continue this aside from the letter exchanges~
Thatās a good back story of Romanās childhood, though i want more. I feel like this bedroom visit to Julie will happen more often and I like it š„° they will get to know each other more and hopefully realize what they really feel for each other. Thinking back then when a small child create a barrier just to protect himself. not allowed of anyone's company because he feels he didn't need to. He went through all the way, trying to be strong, act like he doesn't care. And somehow, he got a caring brother that acknowledge him as a family. So precious. but why did he left you so fast, rome? I want more of this flashback
It must have been very tough for Roman to grow up on a household where he was kept in the shadows. Even when his existence was made known he was still pushed to the background. No wonder he developed his aloof personality as a form of guarding himself from anymore hardship. I can see a very strong protective notion in him though. Just with the evidence of how he came to Tristians aid when he thought the older boy was at a disadvantage. Not to mention all the times he has saved Julie and continues to try to steer her away from people he seems unworthy. Interesting to see Griffin has made it into the flashback. I'm curious to find out more of the story of the past. Did the whole town get attacked and only some of then were turned, or was there a snake in the grass biding time until the right opportunity? It's nice to see Julie and Roman continue to develop their communication. Now it's done more in person. Seems like Julie truly is the only person that Roman can tolerate. His willingness to spend time alone with her is a testament to that. I think they both can feel their bond being tightened. They just haven't been able to acknowledge it yet. Its clear with Roman's leading that he feels something for her, and I think that Julie is starting to realize she feels something too. Shes just painfully slow at it, and unwilling to accept it. Cant wait to see how the tables turn.
So Griffin too is from the past huh?? I wonder why and how his family died and how he turned into a vampire. He must have had a lonely childhood just like Julie as I remember she did remember how her parents were mostly busy and didn't really have time for her. This thing that they're developing between them gives hope for better days to come. I'm guessing it won't be an easy ride but if Julie's mind is set, they'll succeed. She's not as weak as she thinks and appears to be. I'm really curious about both their history especially that of Roman so I can understand him better.
