Kind of wish authors would go for more exotic pets, like ferrets, mongoose, racoon, honey badger in the carnivora family. Or others like lemurs, cute golden snub nosed monkeys, big headed turtle, camel, donkey, etc. Even if it's not exotic, at least something less commonly written about, like bears or pandas.
