Dang I didn’t think the back story would go back that far. I just thought it was a monkey in forest and was a cautious little monkey. So why do some animals retain their sanity? Is basically like how some humans survive mana and others don’t so they turn into zombies. Sane animals are like humans after mana and instinct driven animals are like zombie humans? I think this was a good reminder for Bai Zenmin to remember that now, there will be intelligent beings on Earth besides humans, which means a higher potential enemy pool. As he struggles to survive, he will inadvertently (or purposefully) create enemies and I think was a good way for him to make peace with that.
