When i read this i got a cool idea. What about a stone wall around a fortress, and reinforcing the wall is wood, so the elves can run around easily, and stuff of that nature. Their ability works on all wood, so like a ramp tha goes up the mountain so they can rundt straight up? Or make a hangglider, and a big wood pillar to move around difficult terrain.
