I dunno if the author takes suggestions. but I'd like to make one to solve the food problem there's a temporary and permanent solution. all of the food that was produced prior to the apocalypse IE the food that doesn't have mana. take it and place it near the mana veins. with any luck, the food will absorb the mana and allow it to be eaten for more benefits. that's short term. but if you were to take that food that is now filled with mana, take the seeds and plant it, that would grow mana infused plants. long term. alternatively, if there's one geographically close by, raid a seed vault.

Lean on the government? Yeah these people been surviving without help all this time. If only the military knew what they been through.
