1 1: You must go back

In the sweet morning air the leaves sparkle as the sun rises. Grace stands to stretch her sleepy body, knowing she was in for a monumental ass chewing when she got home. She promised her aunt she wouldn't be out late again, but the night air was too inviting.

Summers sweltering nights had given way to rain and a cool breeze last night. What was supposed to be a quick run on the southern border ended up in a full night's run in the rain.

Grace made her way back to the soul tree and retrieved her clothes. She took in the rough and scared trunk of the massive oak. She ran her muzzle over the spot bearing her father's mark. With a long low howl her soft grey fur disappeared to reveal a unusually tall, pale skinned 15 year old.

Grace was nothing special in her world. She had long red hair, that fell to her waist in soft curls. Her height was above average from other girls her age. The Cable twins called her 'the Freak of 4 Hollows'.

Addy and Evie Cable were perfect, blonde hair, tanned toned bodies, and bright blue eyes. All the boys prayed they would be mated to one of them. However, looks is where their appeal died. They were spoiled brats, and had no compassion for anyone unless it made them look good to the alpha.

Grace dressed and sat at the base of the tree. Stalling would only make this day harder. One year ago her father was murdered. One year ago her whole life stopped. One year ago she became the orphan of 4 Hollows pack. Her Aunt Tara took her in only after the alpha gave her no choice.

Grace would find his killer one day. She would make them pay for all that they took from her. With a long sigh Grace stood, straightened her clothes add brushed off the dirt. With slow steps she had back to the cottage she shared with her aunt knowing what was to come.

To her surprise the house was empty. She made her way upstairs to shower and take a nap. She would take her punishment when her aunt decided to come home. For now she closed her eyes and allowed sleep to take her.
