This is an awkward situation for a reader, either the ML seems capricious or the FL will break a relationship. Sucky situation, no need to go such intimate details for a non lasting relationship.

I honestly find this quite refreshing. The ML is capable of having a genuine relationship despite his differences in displaying his emotions previously. To see him genuinely makes me happy because this is exactly how life can be. You never know how it transitions into something else.

I think he is just interested in this girlfriend but not to the point of really loving her deeply.

I didn't like reading that he was with another woman... it's okay that he's not pure when meeting the protagonist... But this felt like a slap in the face

Yhe FL is not even in the picture yet so hes not cheating On her. Give the author a break. Carry On author!
