It seems like his aunt just lied to her, because she's been setting ber nephew up with dates. I think that Valeria is hurt that Kian didn't tell her about Tinsley and feels like she might be losing her nephew to Tinsley, so she's taking it out on Tinsley. And maybe she's also mad that he's not going for the women that she's choosing for him and is deciding for himself instead. She's probably not used to having people say no to her.
