MC’s acting is way too fake. That scene’s pretty forced. Suri’s IQ seems to be extremely low as well, despite her spending hundreds of years being one of the people in charge of the Army, and constantly dealing with the other members. Back in the time out in the school’s office, Suri directly accepting MC having lost his memory just from one question is slightly forced, but I’ll accept it. Then MC suddenly comes in through her home’s window and questions whether this world is real. Suri immediately believes he recovered pieces of his memory. She doesn’t question if MC already had pieces of his memory and lied to her in the office, or if MC actually has his entire memory and is acting, or how MC even recovered pieces of his memory. Suri was knocked out before MC fainted, she doesn’t know, so she can’t use MC fainting as the explanation for recovering memory. She just accepts it, without even doubting a single thing. She’s one of the bosses of the Army who’s apparently been managing it for hundreds of years, forced major IQ drop. Then she tells MC they’re married irl and have tons of babies. MC’s pretending to be a guy who recovered pieces of memory while fainted, that leads him to question whether the world is real. So a tad suspicious of the world, but no actual evidence. MC coming to find Suri is reasonable, because she was talking about “escaping this world” earlier in the office time out. Issue is he doesn’t bother to dig deeper to find evidence for whether the world is actually fake and Suri knows about it, or if Suri’s just a chuunibyou and sprouting nonsense (think middle school children shouting about how they have super duper special secret powers and are the chosen one who will save the world from impending doom, which is all in their imagination). So MC’s acting like he recovered a few pieces of memory and is slightly suspicious, but instead of asking for evidence or proof he just instantly completely accepts the fact that the entire world and his life (implanted fake memories of being a high school student which everyone in this romcom area has) is completely fake without any questions just because Suri went “yeah, it’s fake. Trust me, even though I’m not gonna give any evidence or reasoning.” Really bad acting from the MC. Plus Suri suspects nothing despite MC’s bad acting. Author forcing things. You know how amnesia plots normally go? Character remembers pieces of memory -> find someone from the memory and ask about it -> they spill beans, also turns out they’re related to the character (for example, wife) -> character accepts or denies it depending on how clear and how much their recovered memory is/any evidence the wife can pull out -> character slowly works on improving relationship with wife (because the years of memories and time spent together is gone due to amnesia) -> character completely magically recovers all memories/doesn’t recover memories but spends enough time with wife to completely rebuild their relationship together. Our MC directly skipped from step 2 (ask someone about suddenly recovered pieces of memories) all the way to the final step (fully recover memories to fix relationship or spend years together to fix it) within the span of bloody 10 seconds “who were you to me” -> “oh, we’re married and have children” -> “I’ll instantly fully accept that explanation without any questions or need for evidence and I’ll also magically recover all memories and shift to loving hubby mode without any awkwardness from fake student memories affecting any of my actions”. The fact that both Suri and MC just fully accepts all suspicious points as the truth without questions or need for evidence, even when it’s clearly extremely suspicious and complete bs, is just how much the author’s forcing the plot along.
