Let me laugh
I for one don't like cowards and or hard headiness who rush into everything without thinking things through even when running twords whatever it is they ran too. I like smart, wise and strong characters who are calm and collected when the a need raises and cares for others but doesn't tolerate fools that do him wrong but also can learn to forgive those close to him for mistakes instead of defining them as back stabbers or any other foolishness and is able to look outside the box and think things through with a open mindedness to be able to solve things others otherwise choose to forget or abandon or avoid.
The idea was kind of intriguing at first, now its just pointless. He will reach immortality at age 5000 (or die on the way) to find he has no life, no likes, no reason to live. You don't exist for so many years then wake up one day and change completely. Seems like a wasted mentality. Also his cowardice, logical but not good for a novel. You could just sum up all this chapters in paragraph: At age 15 awakened his talent, at 18 reached level blah blah blah, at 25 he..... etc.
