It was mentioned that their house got attacked while they were there, they didn't run away because they weren't the masterminds and didn't even help, they were just the in-laws of the traitor, I guess they didn't expect to get attacked so soon or Abi really had hopes for him, plus her father and brother died there and when she fled from the house it was burning and she thought that her sister was at the house, it's possible Isabella ran away or wasn't even at the house at that time.

is that possible to make her step mother and Isabelle out of her family? like some kind of banishment/divorce/anything that would make them disappear? this chapter is hinting just so many conspiracies and murder mysteries. and her mother was also a fighter like her, so she inherited this skill from her mother
