Comments of chapter undefined of The Royal Contract

Author, I'm bit confused here. Alex said in previous chapter that he is in serious relationship with tyra for a long time but in this chapter why tyra mentioning commitment issue? I think she should be saying he had not much time for her when he was busy with his career rather than her mentioning about his commitment to her because serious relationship and commitment relationship are same. So I believe alex and tyra had commitment or serious relationship when they dated because tyra mentioned breaking up.
