Comments of chapter undefined of World of Beasts: I Can See Their Hidden Stats!

I’m rather confused about this book after this chapter. Yes crippling the enemy trainer is against the rules but what can Adrian do when the trainer merges with skill and equipment beasts and technically becomes the beast combatant himself? Was he supposed to just turn around and surrender as hes not allowed to hurt the trainer? In the rules established by the fight the only one to break to rules was the mc as he killed the opponent’s beast. As for fighting with the intent to kill, isn’t that what should be taught anyway? Why would you treat a duel as a game and not a real battle if you are trying to teach the students how to survive against real beast attacks? If you treat the duels as a game you might treat a legitimate beast attack like a game also as thats the way you have been taught to fight.
