I've heard that social media harms the mental health of young children to young adults due to this unrealistic beauty standard thanks to filters. The discrepancy between what they see in the screen and the mirror really blow their self-esteem which made them obsess with these apps, make-ups, and clothes. If this game is released to the public and have that much freedom in character creation, I could see tons of people being obsessed with it and unsatisfied with their real life body. But then again, if they cant change much of their virtual character, then there is little anonimity which can lead to people threatining others irl due to what happened in the game. However, these situations only happens to the high rankers but tbh, they will be doxed sooner or later. If its like casual players or very low rank people who are mad each other, then it would be very rare to meet them irl since It's difficult to track someone with just a face because I believe there will millions and millions of people who will be playing this game. I guess if they want to release this game, the character creation would be to limited to hair color, eye color, moles, skin conditions like pimples, burn marks, acne, and the like. Of course it shouldn't also put people with disability still have those disabilities when they enter the game i.e. a crippled person wont be a cripple person no more when they enter the game. Of course I'm not a fkin scientist or knows virtual reality but apparently in this novel you can control the game by your brain and not like your hands on a keyboard and mouse. So I am assuming that the game does not get inputs from your physical movements but from your thoughts and it does not display its outputs through a screen but by doing something to your brain like how dream works? does that mean that blind and deaf people can see/hear when they're in the game? I think limiting the character creation as much as much as possible is a better choice as it has lesser consequence. I hope the author read this and I would like to hear his thoughts.
