I still don't understand the torture. I mean I get the training aspect but it makes no sense for Oliver to allow it to happen. Not only did William not agree to it, if William is fated to choose one of the sisters (prophecies suck by the way) then why would he ever choose the one who tortured him for days? Why would Oliver allow this to happen if he wants Celine to be chosen? Doubly so since they tortured Ella. I can't think of a better way to make someone who wants to kill you because you tortured them for days want to kill you more than by doing the same thing to their mama. Once again, it makes no sense.
Jesse_6204:not gonna repeatly myself again, you can read my other reply as it explains it too
no wonder the title 'prince of darkness' comes up so much ...this is not a training for dark magic rather making their personality dark yet that prophecy-master-something had the gall to order to dispose of him if he was dangerous...I mean what do you expect from someone whose 'Mama' is tortured in front of you... now I understand this part is to 'move the plot in the direction of dark prince' or whatever and it feels forceful not smooth at all above all he didn't even need torture to advance his magic...this does nothing apart from twisting his personality in a dark direction
The problem I have with this is that the author chose the most Beta version of âMC goes through hardship trainingâ like which MC would I respect more? The one that sits there like a useless piece of meat that just gets tortured and he canât do anything about it or one who gets pushed/forced by a brutal master who gets beat down hard but gets up anyway (if enslaved itâs no longer up to him whether he gets back up or not) and becomes stronger. One actually builds character while the other just builds trauma?
Ok also the worst part about this is that she has no idea about his actual capabilities. By locking him into her training for four years she is actually stunting his growth and putting him behind by four years. It locks him out of using other classes, prevents him from efficiently swapping skill sets and using the ring to farm exp. Even if she has good intentions this is ruining his future. Kinda hope the grandfather just kills her and we get the story back on track.
i really like this actually. dark mages obviously use resentment and outrage to understand their element, and the only way for william to teuly be strong as a mage is to understand his element. hence why he was enslaves without a choice left to suffer. this is what darkness magic is and this is the result of william making a choice without understanding what he was choosing. it's so much better then most stories where learning magic, even the 'evil' kind is just reading a couple of book and trying really hard. learning magic is a life long dedication. i love it
